How to Keep Chocolate Chip Cookies Soft
Did you know that there is a secret to keeping your cookies chewy on the inside? After about a day or so your cookies can easily become hard as a rock. If you place a piece of white bread inside the storage container with your cookies it will help considerably in keeping them fresh for multiple days.
Can you freeze cookie dough
Ok so if there is anything you learn from this post.. this is it. YOU CAN FREEZE COOKIE DOUGH!
Perhaps one of my favorite things I’ve learned as an adult. What you want to do is freeze the cookie dough into the round balls like that you see below. I try my best to allow them to freeze separated from each other, then after they freeze solid you can place them into a freezer friendly container.
Cookie Dough can last in the freezer up to 9 to 12 months.
Now this entirely depends on if you can control yourself from popping in there and grabbing a ball of cookie dough. But if by chance cookie dough survives long enough to be baked…
How to bake cookie dough from frozen
You do not need to thaw the cookie dough. Simply place the frozen cookie dough balls onto a prepared baking sheet and bake for around 3minutes longer. So in this case you’ll want to bake them in the 15-18 minute range if baking from frozen.

Can you freeze cookies after they are baked?
Ok ok. One more thing to mention.. you can actually freeze already baked cookies. We did this just a few weeks ago after so many batches of cookies perfecting this recipe that we REALLY couldn’t (well shouldn’t) eat this many cookies in a week. So fortunately for us and I’ve got to say.. we are loving it. Simply store in an airtight freezer friendly container.
Simple pulling out a bag of already baked cookies from the freezer, let them thaw out and enjoy.
Frozen Cooked Chocolate Chip Cookies will last about 3 months in the freezer.
So as you see cookies do not keep as long in the freezer after they are baked. Or you can completely sidebar this entire freezing possibility and enjoy these cookies in one go. We absolutely will not judge. 😉
